TraxxTool license

TraxxTool is proprietary software, © 2026 Matt Brook, all rights reserved. It is licensed, not sold: your purchase grants a personal license to use the software; copying, redistribution, reverse engineering and derivative works are not permitted. The full license text is installed with the app (LICENSE) and shown in Help → About.

Third-party components

TraxxTool ships with, or depends on, the following open-source components. Each remains under its own license; nothing in the TraxxTool license restricts your rights under them.

• FFmpeg: GPL/LGPL. Bundled as separate executables invoked at runtime for audio decoding/encoding (Windows build; macOS/Linux betas use your system ffmpeg). The bundled build's own license text and build info ship in the app's ffmpeg/ folder, and its source is available from ffmpeg.org / the build's page.
• PyQt6 / Qt: GPL v3 or Riverbank/Qt commercial. GUI framework.
• pydub: MIT. Audio segment manipulation.
• NumPy: BSD 3-Clause. Array/DSP math.
• sounddevice / PortAudio: MIT / MIT-style. Real-time audio output.
• Signalsmith Stretch: MIT. Time-stretch engine.
• rapidfuzz / rapidfuzz-cpp: MIT. Fuzzy matching for lyric alignment.
• requests: Apache-2.0. HTTP client.
• PyJWT: MIT. Entitlement token verification.
• cryptography: Apache-2.0 / BSD. Signature verification.
• keyring: MIT. OS credential store integration.
• TinyTag: MIT. Audio metadata reading.
• openpyxl: MIT. Spreadsheet rig import.
• Playwright: Apache-2.0. Browser automation library (used by the optional community downloader plugin; the library ships with the app, the plugin does not).
• lyricsgenius: MIT. Genius lyrics client (used by the optional Genius plugin; installed separately).
• mido / python-rtmidi: MIT. Optional live-MIDI output.

Plugins

Optional plugins (e.g. the community Karaoke Version downloader, Genius Lyrics) are not part of TraxxTool and are not covered by the TraxxTool license. Each plugin displays its own notice before installation and remains the responsibility of its user. See Terms §6.

StageTraxx is a product of its respective owner; TraxxTool is an independent companion tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by StageTraxx, Karaoke Version, Genius, ElevenLabs or NanoGPT.
